FOAM FABRICATION

Spectrum Adhesives provides all around solutions for sofa and chair manufacturers as well bedding manufacturers. There are simple and economical solutions for forming cushions, laminating fabrics, adhering cushions to frames, foam build up and pillow top assembly.

A single component, water based, cost effective solution for foam fabricators. It has excellent green strength within 5-10 seconds, and can provide foam tearing bonds within 10-20 minutes for cushion and bedding manufacturers. FoamWeld is virtually odor free and cleans up easily.

A two component water based contact bond adhesive where the two components are co-sprayed causing immediate coagulation. This provides  that 1) the adhesive will not excessively penetrate porous surfaces and 2) the coated surfaces can be bonded immediately. The coagulated adhesive offers excellent immediate strength while still wet and in some cases will provide almost immediate foam tearing bonds. Once fully dried, the adhesive develops tough flexible bonds resistant to heat and humidity.  6005 also provides:

  • High solids: 53 to 57%.

  • Non-flammable, providing lower insurance costs

  • Compliant in all states,  containing no VOC’s and no HAP’s

  • Latex-free and non-allergenic

  • Excellent heat (up to 250 F) and moisture resistance.

  • Works well for many materials as long as one surface is porous.

A modified synthetic rubber adhesive designed to replace solvent based adhesives in spray applications for many foam bonding constructions. FoamStick II provides good green strength within 10-15 seconds after application. This product will give foam tearing bonds within 10-20 minutes. FoamStick II will bond foam to itself, wood, metal, and some plastics. FoamStick II also provides:

  • Water based, virtually HAPS free

  • May be used on first grade and rebounded foam

  • Provides soft seam

  • Must be gravity fed to spray gun; no pump maintenance

F-12 spray adhesive is a high solids, high quality synthetic rubber and resin adhesive for adhering both first grade and rebounded foam to itself and other substrates. F-12 develops aggressive tack immediately and retains a degree of tackiness long enough so that a wide range of assembly times may be used.

  • Solids .......................36-40%

  • Viscosity………….....300-500 cps

  • Heat Resistance…...200°F

F-14 spray adhesive is a high solids, high quality synthetic rubber and resin adhesive for adhering both first grade and rebounded foam to itself and other substrates. F-14 develops aggressive tack immediately and retains a degree of tackiness long enough so that a wide range of assembly times may be used. F-14 also provides a near invisible clear glue line.

  • Solids ……………...……30 – 34%

  • Viscosity ………….…….200-500 cps

  • Heat Resistance ………180°F

F-38 spray adhesive is a high solids, high quality synthetic rubber and resin adhesive for adhering both first grade and rebounded foam to itself and other substrates. F-38 is VOC Compliant for the California market.

  • Solids .....................24-26%

  • Viscosity…………...200-300 cps

  • Heat Resistance….180°F

This product is a virtually HAPS free,high quality spray adhesive for use in the foam fabricating industry. 6466 contains a non-flammable solvent and does not require a red caution label.

  • Solids ……………….28-32%

  • Viscosity……………..200 – 300 cps

  • Heat Resistance…....200°F

This product is formulated for airline seating when used to bond fire retardant materials and is also virtually HAPS free. Can pass FAA vertical and oil burner tests (FAR 25.853(a)).
